Another not so rain day and a decision…

Weather:

High: 45

Low:31

Cloudy with rain showers...not so much

We're getting used to being told it will rain only to have it rain a little then be partially cloudy with the sun peeking out. Perfectly good weather to do the lake walk to the store and pick up a couple of things. Kind of handy having Whole Foods so close.

In other news, in reviewing my ecoprise project and 44 page final document (from the graduate ecoprise class I did last Spring 2021) that I was planning to update and turn in as part of my thesis as appendix, it became apparent that other than 5 or so pages, I don't need it. Meaning, it doesn't add anything to my Capstone Thesis Project, mostly because the ecoprise project was originally done as a way to begin developing the idea of my Capstone Thesis Project and now months later, my thesis has developed beyond most of the work I did in the ecoprise course.

This means that the month I set aside to review, revise and polish the ecoprise is now just 5 pages of review, revise, and I did half of that today. It dawned on me this morning after reviewing the materials, that with this out of the way, I could actually finish my thesis early. How early? Well, if I stay focused and committed, I can have it pulled together by the end of the month. Then a week or two to edit and polish and voila, done by mid-March. And then, I'm done with graduate school, only needing to wait until May to officially graduate...yikes! Done with graduate school? What will I do?

Well for starters get our taxes finished and after that, begin working full time on our Fifth Act. The next part of our lives will be learning about purchasing land, writing a business plan, learning about grant writing, finding the land, finding the funding, buying the land, developing partnerships and bringing my dream to fruition. And in case you don't what that is, my dream is to have land to offer educational partnerships that connect students to the land (soil, food, animals, resilient infrastructure, environmental/social topics that are beneficial to developing a sustainable and resilient future).

Dave's dream is to have land to grow food, have renewable energy and be self sufficient as the world becomes more and more susceptible to global warming, climate change, pandemics, economic strife, and political unrest...or zombie apocalypse.
